Membership
We are always keen to welcome new members and accept anyone interested in textile art, regardless of experience or qualification. It is not essential to be an active maker: it is your enthusiasm and love of textiles that we value most. The group is non-selective and our annual fee, currently just £35, is kept low to encourage the maximum possible inclusivity. Non-members are welcome to come to any meeting as a try-out for just £5.
The Benefits of ATT Membership:
We offer inspiration, help in developing your skills, opportunities to display and promote your work, information about local events and the chance to meet like-minded people.
ATT meets 10 times a year (Monday evenings 7pm – 9pm). The majority feature inspirational talks from a wide range of textile makers, who bring beautiful work to share with us and are happy to answer any questions about their process. Meetings are held at The Salvation Army Citadel, Psalter Lane, Sheffield.
ATT arranges exhibitions every other year. Members are encouraged to take part and there is no selection, as long as the work meets the criteria and standards required.
ATT have an Instagram account where we post a wide range of textile work to inspire you, as well as information about exhibitions, workshops and relevant events. Each month we feature work by a Maker of the Month from our membership.
ATT welcomes any member, or group of members, who would be interested sharing and talking about their work at one of our monthly meetings.
ATT’s regular newsletter keeps you updated on our region’s relevant events, exhibitions, workshops and opportunities.
Once or twice a year, ATT meetings offer an informal opportunity to share work and advice in smaller groups and take part in a practical exercise to learn a new technique.
Several times a year, ATT provides a donation table at meetings, where members can exchange unwanted materials, magazines, books etc.
